What does 2021 have in store for air miners?

January 15, 2021

I'm looking at what's ahead for 2021. Here's the gaps and opportunities I'm seeing in the carbon removal industry.

As you know, with AirMiners we're aiming for 1,000 shots on goal by 2030. How do we get there?

Simple. We need more inspiration, education, and acceleration. I made a short video on this here, or you can read below.

Inspiration
What it looks like: Kim Stanley Robinson writing about direct air capture, Forbes featuring nuclear powered carbon removal
Why we need more: Pathway for 100,000 people to find out about carbon removal and get inspired to be part of it. Documentaries, tv shows, media to connect the dots.

Education
What it looks like: Carbon Removal Academy, Air Mining 101
Why we need more: Give people intuition about carbon removal, translate inspiration into insights. "How do I put 'air miner' in my job title?"

Acceleration
What it looks like: Apollo Projects, Dept of Energy funding, YCombinator Carbon RFS
Why we need more: When people have ideas for solutions, surround them with other people figuring it out, people a few steps ahead, scaling, looking for customers, and an augmented environment for them to succeed.

That's what's next for 2021. Got ideas to inspire, educate, and accelerate? Hit reply!
