Selling Carbon Credits: Befriend your buyers

February 06, 2023

Yesterday 160 founders and visionaries came out for our “How to Sell a Carbon Credit” event. Wow! I recommend every startup founder watch the whole video here (1 hour).

My key takeaway from the panel was “befriend your buyers”. Way more info on this is in my video here.

Befriending buyers is more than “meet buyers”, more than “network with buyers”. Get to know buyers, what are their concerns and hopes are for the industry, why they do what they do.

A great way to befriend buyers is to join our accelerator program.

During the 8 weeks, you get to meet privately with buyers like Stacy from Shopify and Joanna from the Frontier team, and marketplace leaders like Berta from Carbon Future and Daniel from Puro.Earth. You get the opportunity to ask them about why they do what they do, what concerns they have, what their hopes are from the industry. It's a off-the-record opportunity to just talk without worrying so much about looking good, no pitches allowed. Good territory to befriend a buyer!

At the end of the accelerator you get to pitch at Buyer’s Demo Day. It’s the largest convening of buyers in the universe, including buyers from Frontier, Shopify, Microsoft, Southpole, BCG, SwissRe, you name it, they’re on the list…and even other Fortune 500s who I’ll leave off because they haven’t announced anything yet. (interested buyers can join the next one on Feb 9th here)

Applications for the next batch of the AirMiners Launchpad accelerator close on Feb 10th, apply here. (If you want to help, please share the “How to Sell a Carbon Credit” event to founders and friends)

It's go time, let's go remove a billion tons of carbon dioxide from the atmosphere by 2030.
