I ran into the CEO of Coca-Cola in line in Davos.

I asked him "how are you thinking about carbon removal?"

He said "I'm not, but I'm really interested in renewable energy, I would love to have a lot more renewable energy". I said "OK I'll let you know", and that was it.

What I realized later is of course there's more to talk about here. Decarbonizing and carbon removal are two pieces of the puzzle towards reversing climate change. But from Davos to Dubai, there's a misconception that decarbonization alone is enough.

Sure, maybe if we decarbonized in 1990. But at this point we need massive carbon removal too.

Next time I meet a Fortune 500 exec I'll ask "how are you thinking about reversing climate change?".
