Remember that letter to the UN you signed?

January 16, 2024

Here's an update (video and on LinkedIn)

In June, 153 AirMiners signed our statement to the United Nations.

There was a risk that the United Nations was going to restrict the methods of carbon removal. Our statement urged the UN to support all types of carbon removal.

The UN negotiations continued at COP28. Maybe partly because of our letter, the UN held off any additional guidance on carbon removal.

This is a win. The outcome from COP28 means the responsibility is left up to us in private industry. This empowers us to set standards for carbon removal innovations.

Get data on durability, permanence, and reversibility, and build standards with your customers and partners. The voluntary carbon market continues to be the driving force in carbon removal, more of those Microsoft, Shopify and JP Morgan purchases. When policymakers eventually go looking for national and global standards, they will use what we've built.

For more on this, watch last week's AirMiners panel with the UN chairperson of Article 6 on YouTube, also in Quantum.

The future of carbon removal is in our hands. Let's go.

P.S. hello from Davos!
