I wanted to follow up on the success of our How to Sell a Carbon Credit event. (it's the one where we doubled our record for signups within 24 hours!) Now, we are excited to announce our upcoming Carbon Registry event. This event will focus on the certification and registration process for carbon removal credits.
I know the idea of a carbon registry can be a bit confusing, but it’s essential for startups looking to get paid for removing carbon from the air. A carbon registry is an organization that certifies and registers the removal of carbon from the atmosphere. Without certification and registration, you can’t make carbon removal credits that corporations and governments will buy.
At this event, we’ll be hearing from a panel of carbon registries (Puro, Patch) and a carbon removal startup founder that got their credits listed (Planboo). You’ll hear insights into the methodology development and certification process from the people doing it.
If you’ve already started a company and put carbon registry on the backburner, this hour will save you weeks of work later. If you're ideaing on a startup solution, come listen and put this in the soup. If you know someone working on a startup, send this to them! And if you’re an investor, this is the quickest way to understand the industry so you can make better investing decisions.
This stuff is continuing to emerge. No one has it figured out, but the people coming to this event are in it, they're doing it, inventing it as they go. I’m really curious about these developments myself, I’m having virtual coffee next week with Antti, CEO of Puro, and dinner (momo!) with Hannes, CEO of Carbon Future.
This is a massive shortcut to understanding the process, timing, and costs of certification and registration, all towards removing carbon from the sky.
I write a weekly newsletter highlighting the AirMiners community and carbon removal industry.
Every week you’ll get insider perspective and community stories from the cutting edge of carbon removal.
The purpose of this newsletter is to accelerate the carbontech industry by speeding up connections, progress, and coordination. It's ideal for people working in carbon removal already, or beginners who want one individual's perspective. People curious about carbon removal are encouraged to sign up and see what sticks.
