The AirMiners Launchpad accelerator has been remarkably successful. We've supported 227 carbon dioxide removal startups that have raised more than $250 million and sold $100M of carbon dioxide removal credits, including the winner of the $100 million XPRIZE.

A lot of that impact is thanks to funding from the U.S. Department of Energy. However, the last batch of funding is frozen. It’s time to get it unstuck.

AirMiners was awarded two prizes from DOE, one in 2023 and one in 2024. Through three rounds of selection we made it to be one of five finalists for the $750,000 EPIC DAC grand prize.

We expected the winner to be announced in January 2025 but instead we were told that it would be delayed. In April 2026, there was news that some funding for DAC Hubs was unlocked. However our specific EPIC DAC program was - and still is - stuck in limbo.

It’s been 18 months. It's time to get an answer from DOE. I don't know if AirMiners was the big winner (I hope so!). Whoever won, I would like to see them get their recognition and funding. These programs make a huge difference for supporting carbon dioxide removal startups, especially now.
