A year ago, I'm sitting at the United Nations Conference of Parties in Baku and I'm in a little white room with no windows and a bunch of other leaders in carbon removal. (video of this message on LinkedIn and YouTube)

Although there's a ton of activity happening outside this room in the Blue Zone at COP, in many of the conversations we've had attendees are still of the mindset that decarbonization alone is sufficient to stabilize the climate, even though all the way back in 2018, the IPCC report started saying that both decarbonization and removal are required.

We're kind of glum, and we decided to create an inspiring goal for 2025, a vision of having the first-ever official presence for carbon removal at the United Nations in Brazil at COP30.

The day has come. It's happening. We've been approved by the United Nations in the blue zone for a pavilion of the Conference of Parties, which is the inner circle of these United Nations events.

The first-ever COP30 Carbon Removal Pavilion is a hub for leaders, for presidents, for governors, for government officials to learn about carbon ruble, to find out what's working, to share what's working, and to set new, bigger goals.

Speaking of leaders, I want to set an even bigger goal for COP.

I just heard California Governor Gavin Newsom is coming to Brazil for COP, and I want him to be part of the Carbon Removal Pavilion. I want to get him in on creating a unified vision for getting carbon removal on track that includes our vision for carbon removal, the United Nations vision for carbon removal, presidents, governors, prime ministers, a vision that is shared by all world leaders and all people for a stable climate and a thriving human civilization, with decarbonization alongside carbon removal.
