The Department of Energy just awarded $22 million of grants across 18 direct air capture companies. This is a big deal, it's the largest grant that I've heard of going directly to direct air capture tech. Even better, most of the money is going towards basic R&D, about $1 million per project, most of which I had never heard of before the announcement. There's also other grants that are going towards supporting scaling up more mature technologies like Global Thermostat's system.
