Are we in a banking crisis? If so, what does it mean for carbon removal?

March 27, 2023

We're hosting a new off-the-record event at AirMiners on the latest in the investment and carbon credit landscape. In light of the possibility of a banking crisis, this topic is emerging, and we want to create an open space for people to ask questions and get responses.

The two big stories this week are Silicon Valley Bank going bankrupt and Credit Suisse being rescued by the Swiss government. Silicon Valley and Switzerland are basically the two biggest global hubs for carbon removal. SwissRe is a funder for South Pole's NextGen purchase facility. Direct Air Capture leader Climeworks is based in Switzerland.

Is there even a banking crisis? If so does it mean anything for carbon removal? For startups? Buyers? Investors? The planet? Does this close off options, does it open new opportunities? (what about longer term questions too, is there going to be a Carbon Valley Bank filled with carbon removal credits? What if it goes bankrupt someday?)

Join me for an engaging conversation and bring your questions to the Q&A. Let's explore the potential implications for carbon removal together.

Register here, bring your questions for the Q&A.
